How many customized pages do you substitute into your paper?
The front page has my picture, the back page has my listings and there is an insert that pictures the Brady Bug (a VW car). I try to make my paper “attention getting.”
There is a picture of all of my team members with their pets and a half page explaining how readers can have free use of a moving truck and a page that shows a featured home.
Describe the content you include to ensure your publication is of interest to your community.
The Gazette articles are current and appeal to a wide range of people. It has “shelf life” (crossword puzzle, gardening, cooking, etc.). The Gazette has a life beyond pictures of my listings.
Which businesses have appeared in your paper?
There are no ads in my paper, but I am considering ads in the future.
Describe some of the community feedback you’ve received.
I knew this publication was working when someone quoted The Gazette to me. I’ve gotten listings and other opportunities as a direct result of The Gazette. I have four “calls to action” in the paper that also help with business.
Have you attained any direct listings as a result of publishing with Custom House Publishers?
Yes, and it has helped me get referrals as well.
Tell us about yourself.
I have more than 30 years experience in real estate. I was a Howard Britton Star in 2004 and I learned about CHP through Howard Britton’s Star Power. My average selling price is $500,000. I am also the president of the local chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors®. I have a son, Jim, who is graduating this month with master’s degree.
